Privacy Notice

Information You Submit

Search terms

A name or location entered in a search box is sent to the independent provider operating that tool. We do not store or log those search terms on our own systems.

Messages

We retain emails or contact-form messages as needed to answer them. We do not share a message outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.

Automatic Technical Data

A page visit may create routine technical records used to operate and measure the service:

  • IP address;
  • browser name and version;
  • device type and operating system;
  • pages viewed and time spent;
  • the referring page, when supplied; and
  • request dates and timestamps.

Cookies

Cookies help measure how visitors use the pages. Browser controls can reject or remove them, although some functions may then behave differently.

How Information Is Used

Collected information supports limited operational purposes:

  • keeping the service available and responsive;
  • sending a query to the selected search partner;
  • understanding which Travis County resources readers use;
  • diagnosing errors and security issues; and
  • displaying advertising that may reflect interests.

Links and Advertising

Links lead to TCSO and TDCJ records, court portals, federal locators, and independent search tools. After a visitor leaves, the destination's privacy policy controls its collection and use.

Advertising partners may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and tailor ads. That tracking occurs under the partner's practices, not as a Travis County government service.

Who May Receive Data

We do not sell personal information. Limited data may reach:

  • search partners processing a submitted query;
  • analytics providers measuring use;
  • advertising networks serving ads; and
  • law-enforcement or government authorities acting under a valid legal order.

Security Practices

We use standard administrative and technical safeguards suited to a public website. No internet-connected service is fully secure, so we cannot promise that transmission or storage will never be breached.

Visitors Under Eighteen

The service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian may use Contact Us to request deletion if a minor submitted information.

Your Privacy Choices

Subject to applicable law and verification, a person may request:

  • a copy of personal data we hold;
  • correction of inaccurate information;
  • deletion of personal information; or
  • an opt-out from certain processing.

Notice Updates

We may revise this notice as services or practices change. The updated version will appear here with a new effective date.
